These are the top ten holiday destinations in Europe for Summer 2016:

10) MALTA

Malta is a small island which is located in the centre of the Mediterranean sea. Malta is most commonly known as a sun and sea destination all year long, however in July and August temperatures can peak up to 40 degrees C. The island has a reputation for it's pristine, blue waters which is much enjoyed by those who visit to go swimming, snorkeling and cliff jumping. Malta's USP however, is it's 7,000 year history, with a greater density of historic sights than any other country.
It has something for everybody.

9) MENORCA

Menorca is a part of Spain and is located in the Balearic Sea. Over the years, Menorca has become a popular tourist attraction, particularly for those who enjoy relaxing, summer breaks in 35 degree heat. Menorca is all about getting in the water, from swimming to kayaking; paddle boarding to sailing; boat trips to diving. On the other hand, if you prefer being on land, Menorca has tons of bars, restaurants and shops as well as large beaches so it fulfills everybody's desires.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and is well known for it's beaches and busy, upscale resorts including Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. With hot and sunny weather all year round, Tenerife remains one of the world's most popular locations for winter holidays. Lanzarote is a chic destination which is popular for on-land activities including cycling, walking, going to markets and sampling local wines. In addition, it's beaches offer water sports including snorkeling and surfing.

Ibiza is becoming an increasingly popular destination for 'party holidays' due to it's high-profile nightclubs and wide selection of bars, particularly in Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni. However, Ibiza continues to attract families and couples due to it's quieter villages lined with hotels, bars, shops and quiet beaches. Not to forget, Ibiza's stunning coastline's.

4) CRETE

Crete is the largest island in Greece and one of the most popular summer locations year after year, after all, it really does have everything too offer.
